EDCS History

ESTABLISHED IN 1988, Under Punjab Cooperative Act 1925.

 Area of operation :- Entire Punjab Province of Pakistan.

Objectives:-  Education Through Cooperation. 

1). To build and operate educational and vocational Institutions with the collective financial resources of society’s members, funding from government and non-government organizations, individual / institutional donations, non-members’s  investments, international organizations engaged in the promotion of literacy, skills and any kind of social education such as climate change, environment protection, population planning, agriculture development, water conservation and / or any kind of training or publicity towards  public awareness with the help of media.

VISION

The EDCS would enable an environment where science and technical education in Pakistan is encouraged through community participation at every level.

TARGET COMMUNITIES.

  1. Female population of all age groups
  2. Students of madrassas, schools, colleges and universities
  3. Teachers (Primary, middle and high school levels).
  4. Rural population of the Punjab.

EXISTING PROJECTS OF EDCS

  1. BEACON HOUSE SCHOOL :-  Lease of EDCS for 99 years.

  2.  ACADEMIA DE AVERROES :-  Lessee of EDCS for 99 years in Valencia “E” block Lahore.

IMMEDIATE PROJECTS OF THE EDCS.

1). Nursing Training academy Lahore. (Essentially for women)

2). Medical Technicians School Lahore. (For boys and girls)

3). Vocational Training School Lahore. (For boys and girls)

4). Teachers training institute. (For men and women)

OPPORTUNITIES FOR INVESTMENT IN SCHOOLS/ INSTITUTIONS.

EDCS History

Any existing or a new member can establish a general school or a skill development institution or any of the ventures approved by society’s bye-laws and mentioned briefly in this website. Projects can be established anywhere in the Punjab. The EDCS could participate financially where possible or see financial help from government or international donors.

EDCS ROLE:-

The Society can prepare a complete feasibility of the project at a nominal consultancy fee. The EDCS can help in raising the funds for the project through its Members, Cooperative bank, or a soft loan from any government agency. The promoter(s) of the project must own the land/ premises where the cooperative business will be conducted.

THE SPONSORS ROLL:-

The project should be economically viable and good for the community at large. The sponsor will show up the legal ownership of the land/ premises where he/she intends to create a project/ school.  

The sponsor will express his willingness for joint venture of the project with other member(s) of the EDCS.

 The EDCS may or may not invest in the project but it will render full support to the project at all levels. The EDCS will charge for its services, according to the nature  and size of the project.
